Guillemot and Farken Prevail in Copenhagen in the World Athletics Road Running Championships Road Mile 2026

Agathe Guillemot of France burst into the lead with about 80 meters to go, winning the World Athletics Road Running Championships mile race in 4:22.74. Freweyni Hailu of Ethiopia, who was passed within sight on the finish line, was second in 4:24.35. Mirriam Cherop of Kenya was third in 4:25.71. Demark’s own Annemarie Nissen was fourth in a personal best of 4:26.78. Naomi Korir of Kenya was fifth in 4:29.15.

Robert Farken of Germany had the strongest finish, winning in 3:51.80. Yared Nuguse of USA who did most of the leading, was a solid second in 3:52.33, and Ruben Querinjean of Luxembourg was third in 3:52.77. Anass Essayi of Morocco was fourth in 3:53.28. Flavien Szot of France was fifth in 3:53.44.

The USA took the team title with Australia in second and Kenya in third.

Addison Wiley, Gracie Hyde, Yared Nuguse, and Vincent Ciattei led the USA to the team title in the WRRC road mile.

Vincent Ciattei of USA was eighth in 3:54.62. Jude Thomas of Australia moved up to ninth in 3:54.92.

Road mile men’s podium: Ruben Querinjean of Luxembourg (third 3:52.77), Robert Farken of Germany (first 3:51.80), and Yared Nuguse USA (second 3:52.33).
Robert Farken of Germany had the best kick and won in 3:51.80 in the WRRC Copenhagen 2026 road mile.
Happy camper Agathe Guillemot of France was elated to win. Mirriam Cherop of Kenya was third, and Freweyni Hailu of Ethiopia was second.
Addison Wiley of USA was tenth in 4:31:02 as all the USA milers had good days on the Copenhagen roads,
Adelle Tracey of Jamaica set a national record of 4:29.30, finishing sixth in the World Road Running Championships in Copenhagen.
Agathe Guillemot of France is overjoyed after winning the World Athletics Road Running Championship mile in 4:22.74.
Annemarie Nissen of Denmark earned a personal best of 4:26.78, finishing fourth.
