Matherne and Conde win “Green” Lucky Charm

By Clay Shaw

Harrisburg, PA, Lucky Charm 4 Miler, March 19, 2022—While neither winner Zoë Matherne or Trevor Conde wore green, most of the 648 finishers did.  The Harrisburg St. Patrick’s Parade followed the new 4-mile race.  In past years (2019, and prior) it had been a combo 10K/5K event.  In 2020 there was no race, of course.  In 2021 it was held on both weekend days on the river.

Zoë Matherne of Camp Hill, PA and Wilmington, DE won by a full minute in 23:17.  Rahe Rowe of Hummelstown was second in 24:17.  Teal Liu of Hershey was third in 25:20.  11-year-old Lyla Eltz of Hanover was fourth in 25:42.  Katherine Shank of Camp Hill, at 59, was the first master and tenth overall in 27:54.

After running in a six-man pack for the first half on the race, Trevor Conde of Bethlehem won in 19:41.  Josh Sadlock of Harrisburg was second in 19:49.  Nate Romberger of Lewisberry was third in 19:50.  Cem Aslan of Camp Hill was top master and ninth overall in 21:58.

Kudos to age group standout Les Bell of York at 74, winning the 70-79 group in 31:42. A special shout out to Lee McMindes of Cornwall, PA, 90, who completed the course in 1:04:15. He won the 80 and up group.

Fleet Feet-Mechanicsburg won the team title, with a dominant presence in the top ten.  Lindsay Pridgen’s orange-clad “Running Realtor” team was second with a strong and most visible team.
