Led by Sarah McDonald, James McMurray, Alexandra Bell, and Jonny Davies, the Great Britain and Northern Ireland team won in 17:55. McMurray, and Bell had the fastest laps in their stages. Belarus was second, with Katsiaryna Karneyenka running the first lap in the lead. France took third with the fastest final lap, set by Alexis Miellet. Spain was fourth, Belgium was fifth, Portugal was sixth, Ireland was seventh, Sweden was eighth, Lithuania was ninth, Italy was tenth. Ukraine, and Latvia rounded out the twelve-team field. The relay was held after the Junior (U23) races, and prior to the Senior races. A smart move by the well-organized Lisbon event.
