US Army Athletes Dominate Men’s Race
Shadrack Kipchirchir set a course record at Apalachee Regional Park, which is designed for cross-country meets. He needed a big kick over the final 400 meters to win by the slimmest margin of the day, in 28:52.5. Emmanuel Bor finished second, with brother Hillary taking fourth. 2018 champ Leonard Korir was third. At this time of the top six, only Scott Fauble who is going to the Boston Marathon, has declined the Denmark event. That opens a spot for Mason Ferlic of Ann Arbor, MI. Kipchirchir and Kebenei, are former US Army runners. While Korir, and the Bor brothers are current members of the American Distance Project.
