Urban and Strickler win 30th Summerfest 5K

7.18.26 East Berlin, PA—Bryanna Urban of Lititz was the women’s champion of the 30th Annual EBACC Summerfest 5K. Urban who is 30, won in 18:41. Former York Suburban HS runner Abby Butera of Dallastown, was second in 18:58.  Lyla Eltz of Hanover, the 2025 champ was third in 20:55. Jessica Metzler of New Oxford was first master, and sixth overall in 23:58.

Austin Strickler of York repeated as the Summerfest 5K champion, winning in 16:23. Strickler ran much faster in 2026 after winning in 17:02 in 2025. Tyson Schuck of Hanover was second in 17:55. Michael Urban of Lititz was third in 18:19.  William Rummel of York was fourth and top master in 18:28. Terry Derk, 84, of Dauphin, PA won the 80 plus age group in 45:08.

Smoky skies on Friday caused many postponements and cancellations. 119 runners finished the 5k, down just ten from 2025. We found the morning very favorable to our photography, minus the usual harsh shadows on the finishing straight.

Austin Strickler of York runs 16:23 to win the Summerfest 5K in East Berlin for the second straight year.
Austin Strickler of York wins the Summerfest 5K in 16:23. He won in 2025, but improved on his time by 39 seconds in 2026.
Abby Butera of Dallastown was second in 18:58.
Lyla Eltz of Hanover was third in 20:55. Lyla won the 2025 Summerfest 5K.
Ella Miller of Dover was fourth in 22:14.
Evan Sandt, 56, of Conestoga, PA was tenth overall and first fifty year old in 19:14. He may be the top age graded runner in the race.
Kathy Mensinger of Hanover ran 37:51 and was happy to score a second in her age group.
Rachel Mailey of East Berlin gives a wave and wins her age group.
David Harmon of Gettysburg ran 29:24.
Josefina Carrasco of York leads a large group of runners up the home stretch. She was eighth overall in 24:33.
Ned Einsig of New Cumberland was fifteenth in 20:32 and won the 30-34 age group.
Matt Staub of Hanover was eleventh in 19:49, and was second runner over 50.
Jessica Metzler of New Oxford was top master and sixth overall in 23:58.
Lorelei Eltz of Hanover is just 11, but running great. She was ninth in 24:44.
Fun day in East Berlin. Clare Mailey #537 of East Berlin runs with Madison Lynch #372 of Dover.
