24th York Rail Trail 10 Miler, Seven Valleys to York, PA, August 27, 2022—Alysha Flynn of York won the Rail Trail 10 Miler in 1:08:05, topping all the men except the top three. Sarah Wenger of Dallastown was second overall and top master, in 1:10:30. Wenger had a successful 100-mile race, finishing 8th in 32:15:10 at the Eastern States 100 Miler on August 13. Kelly Rose of Dover, the 2021 Rail Trail 10-Mile champ, was third in 1:14:24. Rose ran faster in 2022.
Benjamin Abeles of Felton, PA won the race for the second straight year. Abeles, a Boston Marathon sub-3-hour marathoner (2:57:05), won the race in 1:04:03. Abeles was the top master as well. Damien Lynch of York was second in 1:05:58. David Rizzuto of York, who is 56 now, burst into the lead for the first several miles, and finished third in 1:05:04. 219 runners finished the 10 Miler.
