June 4, 2022, Lancaster, PA, Red Rose 5 Miler—Christopher Myers of Lancaster and Georganne Watson of Lititz, each join a select group of runners that had won both the Red Rose and the York White Rose 5 Milers, both of which began in 1977. Jeff Bradley was the first to accomplish this feat in the first year. Myers, who won the Race Against Racism 5K in April, won Red Rose in 25:33. Watson, who ran a 2:46 marathon in Sacramento, CA at the California International Marathon in December, won in 30:11.
742 participants finished the 2022 Red Rose, in its first “live” running since 2019.
Ian Miller of Lancaster was second in 25:59. Drew Nesbitt of Lancaster was third in 26:22. Peter Weida of Lancaster was fourth in 27:03. Nathaniel Alter of Lancaster was fifth in 27:07.
Bryanna Urban of Lititz was second in 32:03. Leah Maher of New Providence was third in 32:36. Stephanie Pryor of Lancaster was fourth in 32:48. Meg Griffith of Manheim was fifth in 32:51.
