Feter, Green Win 10th Gold Star 5K

YORK, PA, MAY 31, 2021—Chris Teter led five fellow teenagers around the Gold Star 5K course at  Penn State York to win in 18:04.  Cole Harris was second in 18:11.  Drew Stinson was third in 18:27.  Kudos to my grandson, Liam George, 13, who placed eighth in 20:26 and won his 14 and under age group. Jon Fox was sixth overall and top Master in 20:14.

Hayley Green of York won the women’s overall in 21:47.  Nicole Register of Jacobus was second in 22:41.  Lynn Fuhrman of York was third in 22:50.   Heather Roe was top Master in 22:55 and was fourth overall. 109 runners finished the 5K event that benefits the York Gold Star Memorial and gardens.  The race started in 2011, and is directed by Jeff Hines and Patti Stirk.

Gold Star 5K start 2021. The race made its debut in 2011 on Memorial Day.
Chris Feter #420 was the 2021 Gold Star 5K winner. In the lead pack are Drew Stinson #418, Ayden Krall #444, Matthew Getz (white shirt), and Cole Harris #345.
Liam George of York placed 8th overall in 20:26, and won the 14 and under age group. Go Grandson Go !
Hayley Green of York wins the Gold Star 5K in 21:47.
Janel Kinard of York was 5th woman in 23:18. I did my best to include some flags in the photos.
Renee Green of York and the Flying Feet team was 6th woman in 23:46. Mother and daughter did well at the Gold Star 5K.
