Gettysburg, PA, April 25, 2021—Marc Lugo of Rochelle Park, NJ was the winning male on the Gettysburg North-South Marathon in 2:42:30. The course was fairly hilly and went through the East Calvary Battlefield twice on the double-loop marathon course. The event was based about three miles east of the Gettysburg Square. Jonathan Cheng of Baltimore was second in 2:44:25. August Sander of Pittsburgh was third in 2:44:52. Jonathan Arnold of Gettysburg was eighth and top master in 2:51:08.
Sara Zambotti of Shelocta, PA was the women’s champ and top master in 2:59:57. Sara Scales of Braselton, GA was second in 3:04:49. Emily DiNallo of West Point, NY was third in 3:12:27.
US Army runners from West Point, NY were dominant in their numbers, and in the top ten as well. 289 runners finished the marathon.
