Lugo and Zambotti Win Gettysburg North-South Marathon

Gettysburg, PA, April 25, 2021—Marc Lugo of Rochelle Park, NJ was the winning male on the Gettysburg North-South Marathon in 2:42:30. The course was fairly hilly and went through the East Calvary Battlefield twice on the double-loop marathon course. The event was based about three miles east of the Gettysburg Square. Jonathan Cheng of Baltimore was second in 2:44:25.  August Sander of Pittsburgh was third in 2:44:52. Jonathan Arnold of Gettysburg was eighth and top master in 2:51:08.

Sara Zambotti of Shelocta, PA was the women’s champ and top master in 2:59:57.  Sara Scales of Braselton, GA was second in 3:04:49.  Emily DiNallo of West Point, NY was third in 3:12:27. 

US Army runners from West Point, NY were dominant in their numbers, and in the top ten as well. 289 runners finished the marathon.

Leaders at 11 miles. Fred Joslyn #133 of Boiling Springs was 7th in 2:50:51. Marc Lugo #164 of Rochelle Park, NJ won the men’s marathon in 2:42:30. Jonathan Cheng of Baltimore was second in 2:44:25.
Haley Seaward #352, and Emily DiNallo #333 both of West Point, NY run together at 11 miles. Seaward was 5th in 3:17:51. DiNallo earned podium honors in third, with a 3:12:27. Go Army 🙂

Caitlyn Reese #233 of Elizabethtown finished 9th in 3:28:18. Bryanna Urban of Lititz was sixth in 3:19:05.
