by Clay Shaw

YORK, PA, March 20, 2021—Adam Moore of Wrightsville won the men’s division of the Indian Rock 10K  in 35:39. Moore had a tough battle with West York high school runner Thomas Urrunaga, who led much of the way.  Urrunaga finished second in 35:54.  Dylan Cunningham, who won both the past two Winter Series races (Springettsbury 10K and Rudy Park 5 Miler) was not there.  HS runners Anthony Roselli (37:23), and Dellas Edmisten III (37:25) earned the third and fourth overall spots.  Bradley Yehl of Maytown placed fifth in 39:00.

Emily (Dubs) Fuller of Carlisle won the women’s division in 39:18 over a solid field.  Erica Pearson of Lititz was second in 40:48.  Sarah Delia of Lancaster was third in 41:30.  Both Pearson and Delia wore the blue and red colors of the F & M Track Club.  Becky Doner of York was fourth in 41:50, the Springettsbury 10K race director wore the purple colors of the Flying Feet Racing Team.  Sarah Cardone of York was fifth in 44:14.

Indian Rock 10K ended up being the latest York Winter Series race in the 41-year history of the series.  Pandemic crowd protocols imposed over the holidays made January races uncertain, so they were both moved to March.  171 runners finished the 10K with another 66 in the one-mile run.  Jeremiah (JT) Hetrick of Millersville won in 5:25, with Mae Treml taking top women’s honors in 6:27.  Special thanks to the York Road Runners and to series coordinator Heather Roe for coordinating this season’s series in tough and uncertain conditions.  Five races of the normal eight were held. There was also a virtual challenge of 135 miles with some really cool swag.
