LANCASTER, PA, APRIL 27, 2019—-The oldest Race Against Racism event, the 21st Lancaster, PA race, has had its share of great athletes from around the world. This year, however, it was three Lancaster men going for the title and podium, all in the same F & M Track Club kit. It was Isaac Bryan (15:55) winning a close battle with teammate Nickolaus Lachman (15:57). Otis Ubriaco took third in 16:07. Omari Daughtridge of Fort Washington, Maryland took fourth in 16:31. Alex Pearson of Hummelstown was fifth in 16:47. Evan Sandt of Conestoga was ninth overall among men and first master, in 18:46.
Christine Ramsey of Philadelphia was the women’s champ for the second straight year. Ramsey won in 18:35. Bryanna Dissinger of Lebanon was second in 19:13. Alyssa Kennedy of Reading was third in 19:45. Brenda Hodge of York was fourth overall and top master, in 19:57. Erin Dubs of Dover was fifth in 20:14.
2291 participants finished the 5K. The Race Against Racism funds YWCA Lancaster’s Social Justice and Advocacy programs. Two of the more remarkable participants were the legendary Heidi Moebius (age 80) of Lancaster who ran 30:17, and 88-year old Bob Horst of Lancaster who did a 39:37.
