Sheltons dominate Shoe House Shuffle 5 Miler

7.4.26 York, PA–Eric Shelton of Dover, PA won the very hot Shoe House Shuffle in 27:20. Griffen Ridler of Manchester, PA, the 2025 champion, was second in 27:42. Austin Strickler of York was third in 28:43. Those three were the only runners to break thirty minutes, during a heat wave that had temperatures later on the 4th of July rise to 104 degrees.

Jason Eberly of Mechanicsburg was fourth overall and top master in 30:14. A strong race was run by David Rizzuto, now 60, of York who was second master and sixth overall in 31:39.

Nicole Shelton of Dover was tops among women in 33:30. Rebecca Doner of York was second in 35:09. Ashley Main of York was third in 35:36. Amanda Cario of York set up her LHM Physical Therapy booth and then finished fourth in 37:15. Patricia Bender of Lancaster was eighth and top master in 40:06.

The heat kept a few runners away, as 202 finished the 2026 event, down 66 from 2025. The York Road Runners had water at the Shoe House with a big staff of volunteers. Cooling towels were also helpful to the runners, as well as the famous Pennsylvania treat of Kona Ice.

Isabella Covello of York was twelfth in 41:34.
Kelli Takach of York was sixteenth in 42:26.
Gianna Corrieri of York ran 45:11 with an upside down bib. Marathoner Kelly McKinley of York (orange kit), closed strong to place fourteenth in 42:03.
Stephen Zinn of York earned second 60-64 in 43:01.
Jonathan Croft of Hummelstown, PA ran 43:01.
Chrystal Young of York placed second in age group with a 47:16.
Cortnie Amelotte of York ran 48:52.
Margaret Moore of York ran 50:35 to win the 70 age group.
