We covered the elite athlete press conference this morning, Friday, April 17, 2026, at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel. As always, the elite field is filled with many of the sport’s most talented and dedicated athletes. We did our best to capture portraits of our best athletes. We hope you enjoy them.
On a personal note, 2026 will be my 40th Boston Marathon, 32 as a photojournalist and eight as a runner. Karen has run Boston four times. We fondly remember the 100th running as qualified runners in 1996, the first really big field of runners. (Who knew then that huge numbers of runners would become commonplace in recent years.)
