March 2026
Sunday begins our March run
Complete with spring-day sun
March 1 is meteorological spring
Bringing many a happiness zing.
March is a family birthday time
Growing older is never a crime
I’ve reached my 73rd new year
Celebrating with a birthday cheer.
March 20th is the spring equinox
Ending this season’s winter ox
More daylight and warmer days
Earn many road-running Hoorays!
Yet, March is a season quite fickle
Road runners are often in a pickle
March presents some nice days
Then snow-covered highways.
March gives us a greening scene
I love viewing that earthy green
Green growth along my roadside
Means spring will no longer hide.
Time once again is on our side
So, we have no need to hide
Each March day moves us along
As we run with morning bird song.
So Long
So long winter season
I tolerate you for a reason
This season was cold and long
With a cold nasty windy song.
Winter in November is not good
I ran on daily, the best I could
Recent winters were so mild
Pleasing this road-running child.
This winter season was very bad
March brings spring and I’m glad
Although March can swing fast
Any snowy weather will never last.
So long my durable winter gear
You did permit running minus fear
It’s time, yes it’s time to move on
March brings us a new spring dawn.
Running in light run gear is great
I never miss winter’s demise fate
Each season lasts just so long
Winter this year was a bad song.
So long winter, it’s Good Bye!
As the March sun streams high
And yes, I will never miss you
This runner bids you Adieu!
Early Green
March creates a road scene
That steadily is early green
After a harsh winter season
We enjoy spring for a reason.
Running along the March Road
We view the greening episode
Green colors appear each day
It’s time, spring’s on the way.
This green growth is steady
And this road runner is ready
We place winter behind us
With its cold snowy fuss.
Green colors the brown drab
Mother Nature gives us a rehab
Spring is seasonally rebirth
As we steadily re-green Earth.
Runners are reborn now too
As we bid winter weather adieu
Yes, we do have a way to go
We still enjoy this green glow.
The calendar is on our side
We love our early green ride
The smells, sounds, and sights
Provide endless run delights.
