Koech and DeHaas Tie; Ejore Repeats at Curio Wellness 5K

10.14.23 Baltimore, MD—The Curio Wellness 5K started the Baltimore Marathon Running Festival.  2677 runners finished, and lucky for them, they beat the rain.

Jonah Koech of Colorado Springs and Matt DeHaas of Wassenaar, Netherlands came into the 5K finish together in 15:20.  Koech was awarded the win.  Nicholas Crouzier of Gaithersburg, MD was third in 15:24.  Crouzier later was fifth in the CareFirst half-marathon in 1:12:24.  James Heilman of Lutherville, MD was fourth in 15:34.  Cliff Carty of Pearl River, NY was fifth in 15:38. 

Susan Ejore of Baltimore, a native of Kenya, won for the second straight year in 15:56.  Abbe Goldstein of Baltimore was second in 16:19.  Abby Kohut-Jackson of St Louis, MO was third in 16:22.  Ellie Leather of Silver Spring, MD was fourth in 16:29.  Lydia Olivere of Wilmington, DE was fifth in 16:35. 

Under Armour athletes dominated the Baltimore Running Festival.  The Baltimore Marathon has its 11-mile turnaround at Under Armour Global Headquarters.

The Curio Wellness 5K started the Baltimore Running Festival at 7:30AM. The lead runners are heading south on Light Street at the Inner Harbor.
The win was given to Jonah Koech #4352 of Colorado Springs, CO in the Curio Wellness 5K. It was essentially a tie with Matt DeHaas of Wassenaar, Netherlands. Both were clocked at 15:20.
Susan Ejore of Kenya repeats as Curio Wellness 5K champion in 15:56.
Abbe Goldstein of Baltimore was second in the Curio Wellness 5K in 16:19. Goldstein is one of many top runners who ran at the University of New Mexico.
Lydia Olivere of Wilmington, DE was fifth in 16:35. Lydia ran at Villanova University.
Cliff Carty of Pearl River, NY was fifth in the Curio Wellness 5K in 15:38.
Erin McCloskey of Columbia, MD was sixth in 18:15.
Benjamin Burns of Baltimore, age 12, sprints to a 21:01.
Natalie Vance of Perry Hall, MD , age 12, has a solid clocking of 21:20 in the Curio Wellness 5K.
Brendan Meixner of Tucson, AZ digs in to finish in 17:19. He placed 21st and won his age group.
Julia Wang of Baltimore was seventh in the Curio Wellness 5K in 19:14.
Mallorie Jenne of Baltimore was ninth in 19:37.
Shane Blackman Jr and Shane Blackman of Chesapeake Beach, MD run the Curio Wellness 5K together in 21:16.
Sid Busch of Goose Creek, SC runs the Curio Wellness 5K. Sid ran his 200th marathon in Baltimore years ago. He served in the US Navy for 33 years and carries the USA flag to honor fallen veterans.
