Muse Crushes Hilly Bird-In-Hand Course

BIRD IN HAND, PA, SEPTEMBER 11, 2021—The only company Tyler Muse of Bel Air, MD had was the lead horse and carriage, with two men in the Bird-in-Hand Half Marathon. Muse broke away from the 1165-runner field right away, and went on to win by nearly seven minutes, in 1:10:44. 

Isaac Jennings of Narberth, PA was second in 1:17:37.  Daniel Rhollans of Brooklyn, NY was third in 1:18:37.  Tim Nguyen of Philadelphia was fourth in 1:19:00,  Lyle Stauffer of Ephrata was fifth overall, top master, and top local in 1:20:34.

Nicole Patrick of Falls Church, VA was the top woman with a 1:25:30.  Jeanine Stewart of Philadelphia was second in 1:26:57.  Madelena Rizzo of Wyncote, PA was third in 1:29:44.  Mariana Folco of Philadelphia was fourth in 1:32:30.  Kathy West of Bethlehem was fifth overall and top Master in 1:32:43,

The Bird-In-Hand course is a bit hilly, or rolling one might say.  It’s a beautiful course and one that is quite unique and tours the Amish farmland of Eastern Lancaster County.  A must-run for those who have a bucket list, and a race worth traveling to.

Nicole Patrick of Falls Church, VA was the women’s champion with a 1:25:30.
Shawn Godack of York, and course captain on the York White Rose Run course, ran a 1:55.
Amos King of Lititz multi-tasks while pacing the 1:50 group.
Mariana Folco of Philadelphia and Athena Manolakos of Wilmington, DE race through the first miles. Folco placed 4th in 1:32:30, and Manolakos was eighth in 1:34:55.

Jen Esposito of Kutztown, PA was eighth overall, and second master, in 1:36:30.
Gretchen Stevenson of Akron, PA sets a new PR of 1:39:21 and placed 14th among the women.
Katherine Brown of Ephrata gets a view of some Bird-In-Hand traffic on her way to 19th place among women.
Alayna DeBruin of Elizabethtown, wearing York College colors, placed 25th among the women.
Jenn Pellegrino #2016 of Washington, DC and Krissa Viscomi #2374 of Bethlehem, PA, lead a group of runners in the final mile.
