Gerstenbacher and Hayes Win Capital 10 Miler

Harrisburg, PA, April 17, 2021—Samuel Gerstenbacher of Lancaster and the F&M Track Club scored his second HBG victory in a row, with a 51:48 men’s winning time at the Capital 10 Miler. Gerstenbacher won the Lucky Charm 5K in March. The men’s field was deep with strong teams from Lancaster’s F&M Track Club and the Fleet Feet team from Mechanicsburg. Ryan Blood of Carlisle was second in 52:05, Chris McCabe of Mechanicsburg was third in 52:29. Josh Sadlock of Harrisburg was fourth in 52:45. Nickolaus Lachman of Lancaster was fifth in 53:00. Cem Aslan of Camp Hill was top master in 57:57; he placed 15^th overall in the strong men’s field.

Joanna Hayes of New Cumberland kicked it in to finish first among women, in 1:05:36. Teal Liu of Hershey was second in 1:03:59. Emily (Dubs) Fuller of Mechanicsburg was third in 1:04:28. Carly Shea of Lewisburg was fourth overall and top master in 1:04:34.Katie Fuller of Mechanicsburg was fifth in 1:05:09. Mary Lou Harris of Harrisburg, the race founder, now 73, won her age group in 1:43:54.

205 runners finished the 10 miler, which supports non-profit arts organizations.

Samuel Gerstenbacher #67 of Lancaster won the Capital 10 Miler men’s race in 51:48. Ryan Blood #8 was second in 52:05. Chris McCabe (running behind the leaders) moved up to third in 52:29. Josh Sadlock was fourth in 52:45, Nickolaus Lachman #119 was fifth in 53:00.

Teal Liu of Hershey led most of the race and placed second in 1:03:59.

Fleet Feet vs F and M at the Capital 10 miler. Luis Miranda #162, Brian Petraco #178, Peter Weida #237, Noah Reighard #168, David Schofield, and Fred Joslyn #102 duel along the river.

Teal Liu hears footsteps and checks out Joanna Hayes moving up in the final mile. Hayes won in 1:03:36. Liu was second in 1:03:59.

Carly Shea of Lewisburg was fourth woman overall and top master in 1:04:34.

Cem Aslan of Camp Hill was top master in 57:57.

Emily Fuller of Mechanicsburg was third woman overall in 1:04:28.

Fred Joslyn of Boiling Springs powers down the final mile to place sixth in 54:19. Garrett Patrick of Baltimore was seventh in 54:38.

Joe Church of Dover, legendary distance runner, ran 1:35:30.
Mary Lou Harris, Capital 10 Miler race founder, ran 1:43:54 to win the 70-74 age group.
Lindsay Leigh placed 11th in 1:15:14. Tiffany Lewis #136 ran 1:20:40.
Kelly Leighton of Harrisburg placed eighth overall among women in 1:10:12.
