Harrisburg, PA, April 17, 2021—Samuel Gerstenbacher of Lancaster and the F&M Track Club scored his second HBG victory in a row, with a 51:48 men’s winning time at the Capital 10 Miler. Gerstenbacher won the Lucky Charm 5K in March. The men’s field was deep with strong teams from Lancaster’s F&M Track Club and the Fleet Feet team from Mechanicsburg. Ryan Blood of Carlisle was second in 52:05, Chris McCabe of Mechanicsburg was third in 52:29. Josh Sadlock of Harrisburg was fourth in 52:45. Nickolaus Lachman of Lancaster was fifth in 53:00. Cem Aslan of Camp Hill was top master in 57:57; he placed 15th overall in the strong men’s field.
Joanna Hayes of New Cumberland kicked it in to finish first among women, in 1:05:36. Teal Liu of Hershey was second in 1:03:59. Emily (Dubs) Fuller of Mechanicsburg was third in 1:04:28. Carly Shea of Lewisburg was fourth overall and top master in 1:04:34.Katie Fuller of Mechanicsburg was fifth in 1:05:09. Mary Lou Harris of Harrisburg, the race founder, now 73, won her age group in 1:43:54.
205 runners finished the 10 miler, which supports non-profit arts organizations.
