Sadlock, Doner Win Hot, Humid Shoe House Run

YORK, PA—Joshua Sadlock of Harrisburg won the 7th Annual Shoe House 5 Miler held July 4 in 26:03.  Sadlock was a full minute ahead of second place Trevor Van Ackeren of Bethlehem PA, in 27:03.  The final podium spot went to Matthew Martino of Hanover in 28:25.  Younger runners Noah Brady, 22, of Nottingham (29:26) and Jack Warehime, 19, of Hanover (29:57) rounded out the top five.  Andrew Hartman of York, was the top Master, finishing in 33:08. 

Rebecca Doner of Mt Wolf continued her winning ways with over a full minute win.  Doner who won most of the York Winter Series races took top honors in 34:04.  Karen Lam-Duckett of York was second overall and top Master, in 35:08.  Courtney Nowak of Lancaster was third in 35:49.  Isabella Navarro, age 13, of Seven Valleys, PA took fourth in 36:46.  Kelly Rose of Dover was fifth in 36:56.

The Shoe House 5 Miler was Run #1 of the RUN 717 SERIES, and had a record 283 finishers.  The following two races are EBACC 5K on July 20 in East Berlin, PA, and the 42nd York White Rose Run 5 Miler in downtown York on September 28.  The series is sponsored by US Road Running, and the York Road Runners.

Kelly McKinley of York (another gal from our extended neighborhood), places 10th overall. McKinley is primarily a marathoner and recently ran her 40th lifetime marathon.
