Pagano and Hampton Win Bird-in-Hand Half Marathon

9.6.25 Bird-in-Hand, PA—Lianne Pagano of Boston, MA and Bryce Hampton of Lancaster, PA were the winners of the 2025 Bird-in-Hand Half Marathon.  Pagano won in 1:22:45, with only six men in the 1805 runner field finishing ahead of her.  Hampton had a strong race, too, winning in 1:13:27 on the Lancaster County hills in Amish farmland.

Samantha Snukis of Lititz ran strong for second place in 1:25:20, as only two women ran under 1:30 on the challenging course.  Morgan Perry of Christiana, PA was third in 1:30:27.  Catherine Shontz of Lancaster was fourth in 1:33:25. Nicole Salerno of Bayville, NY was fifth in 1:35:50. Kristin Herring of Newport News, VA was sixth and top master in 1:37:34.

Brandon Fogarty of New Ringgold, PA was second in 1:15:06. Ian Miller of Lancaster was third in 1:16:28. John Gregory of Strasburg, PA was fourth in 1:18:48. Nick Soirez of Baltimore, MD was fifth in 1:22:19.  The top master was Brian Yeager of Bel Air, MD, who ran 1:27:11 and finished thirteenth.  At 52-years-old, Yeager topped all the forty-year-olds.

Senior brags from York, PA.  Billie Melanson, 71, ran 1:59:29, as she gets ready for the Berlin Marathon.  Also from York, PA, Les Bell at 78, topped the 70-year-olds in 2:18:07, topping his competition by twenty minutes.

As mentioned earlier the Bird-in-Hand Half Marathon drew 1805 finishers from near and far. On Friday night Dan Forry of Columbia, PA (15:36) and Liz Sweeney of Reading (19:31) won the 5K, leading another 1310 finishers.  PS, your photographer only came for the Saturday race and got in some cycling in Eastern Lancaster County.
