Galeazzo and Higgins Win 52nd Harrisburg Marathon

Harrisburg, PA, 11.10.24—Laura Galeazzo of Webster, NY led from start to finish, winning in 2:57:12. Josh Higgins of Carlisle, PA fronted a small lead pack early in the race, but then ran alone most of the way to win in 2:24:58.

The Enders Harrisburg Marathon was run for the 52nd time and had 568 finishers in 2024 on its double loop on mostly Greenbelt paths and Susquehanna River Bridges.

Angelique Antonini of Schuylkill Haven, PA was second in 3:03:35. Elizabeth Dustin of Warren, PA was third in 3:11:16. Jessica Luciano of Waldwick, NJ was fourth in 3:13:16.  Jessica Marchessault of Center Valley, PA was fifth in 3:17:23.  Rachel Aslan of Camp Hill was the top master and seventh overall in 3:17:44.

Matthew Pick of West Chester, PA was second in 2:29:56.  Vinnie Caroselli of Pittsburgh was third in 2:31:07.  Benjamin Jones of State College, PA was fourth in 2:34:35.  Ryan Fan of Baltimore, MD was fifth in 2:35:41.  Paul Hayes of Dillsburg was top master and sixth overall in 2:37:14.

Forty men and Laura Galeazzo broke the three-hour barrier. One of the sub-three-hour runners was Rafeal Zinurov of Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 2:49:34.  Sean Bowen of Canada was the other international under three hours with a 2:49:51. 

Colleen Duncan of Oaklyn, NJ won the half-marathon in 1:26:30.  In March, Duncan won the Lucky Charm 4-Miler in Harrisburg.  Joanna Hayes of Dillsburg was second in 1:27:12. Rachel Stine of Chambersburg was third in 1:30:25.  The first master was Anna Squicciarini of State College who ran 1:39:17 and was seventh overall.

Matt Beurmann of Clarks Mills, PA won the half-marathon in 1:14:13.  Stephen Welsh of Lancaster was second in 1:16:54. Wade Lucas of Mechanicsburg was third in 1:22:00.  The first master was Nick Seitzinger of Reading, PA in 1:26:47; he was eighth overall.  361 finishers completed the half.

The 3:30 pace group
Dan Reeves of Mechanicsburg, PA leads the 4-hour pace group. Dan has experience, having run sub-4 hour marathons in all 50 states.
Speedo Mike, is more USA flag shorts Mike, as Michael Womelsdorf of Etters leads the 4:15 pace group. He clocked a perfect 4:14:22.
Keith Straw of Malvern, PA leads the 4:45 group. Keith is another perfect pacer, finishing in 4:44:36.
Park Barner of Enola is a legendary long-distance runner.
Jay Jin of New York, NY was 18th in 2:49:39.
Rafael Zinurov of Tashkent, Uzbekistan was 17th overall in 2:48:52. We were in Uzbekistan in 2018 on a fantastic trip on the Silk Road.

Jason Clarke of Camp Hill ran 3:03:54.
Keith Sattazahn of Harrisburg and David Levy of Camp Hill get a friendly escort in the final mile of the Harrisburg Marathon. Both runners made it under 3:10.
Alexis Davidson of Brooklyn, NY walked the marathon in 5:13:31. He is a very fast walker and just did NYC and a ton of European marathons this Fall.
