First Timers Win Baltimore Marathon

Baltimore, MD, October 19, 2024—Willy Fink of Gaithersburg, MD, a professional athlete running for Under Armour, won the Baltimore Marathon in 2:21:37.  Fink is more of a short distance specialist and was a standout track and XC athlete at Eastern Michigan University.  Fink was accompanied by fellow UA athletes Adam Fogg, John Reniewicki, and Casey Comber for much of the marathon.  Alexander Loper of Abington, MD was second in 2:29:50.  Louis Levine of Arlington, VA was third in 2:31:14.  Daniel Rowe of Baltimore was the top master and fifth overall in 2:33:44.

Sara Kenefick of Charlotte, NC also won her first marathon in 3:03:41.  Kenefick was a gymnast at the University of Pennsylvania.  She took over the lead in the second half of the race and went on to win by over three minutes.  Simiao Li of Princeton, NJ, 18-years-old, was second in 3:07:10.  Michelle Johnston of Dayton, OH was third in 3:07:50.  Caroline Bauer of Elkridge, MD was top master and ninth overall in 3:18:36.

The Baltimore Marathon started in 2001 and is organized by Corrigan Sports Enterprises. The marathon had an increase this year with 1623 finishers in the 2024 running.

Robert Creese of Mt Airy was 11th in 2:40:26. Creese won the 2022 Baltimore Marathon.
Teresa Wojtasiewicz of Baltimore always impresses with awesome outfits. She finished 13th in 3:21:23.
Sarah Wenger of Dallastown, PA was fifteenth in 3:22:46, six days after running the Chicago Marathon.
Braxton Clark Jr of Salisbury, MD was tenth in 2:39:41.
Ryan Shrum of Rossville, GA ran 3:01:36. Like the Chattanooga Track Club shirt, one our favorite cities.
Passing the cow are Carson Stephenson #2721 of Monkton, MD, Michelle Johnston of Dayton, OH, and Therese How #1473 of Baltimore.
The 3:10 pacers lead a group from the Camden Yards start.
