Harrisburg, PA, 3.16.24—It’s hard to believe that Lucky Charm 4 Miler is in its 9th year.  The annual St. Patrick’s Day event shares downtown Harrisburg with the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.  These photo journalists prefer the 4 miler to the previous 10K/5K combo race.  This year the numbers got up over 900 registrants with 815 mostly green-clad finishers.

Colleen Duncan of Oaklyn, NJ won the 2024 running in 24:32.  In 2023, she was seventh.  Teal Liu of Hershey was second in 24:57.  Katie Bicksler of Boiling Springs was third and top master in 25:32.  Katie Fuller of Mechanicsburg was fourth in 25:40.  The top four overall earned some prize money.  Emily Nelson of Mechanicsburg was fifth in 25:49.  12-year-old Alexandra Sagen of Camp Hill was sixth in 26:00.

Alex Monroe of Lewistown, PA won the men’s division in 19:42.  Running with a large lead pack through the first mile, Monroe broke away for a 39-second win.  David Rumsey of Harrisburg was second in 20:21.  Logan Hurst of Mechanicsburg was third in 20:30.  Nate Romberger of Lewisberry, PA was fourth in 20:31.  Josiah Moyer of Telford, PA was fifth in 20:45.  Matt Wagoner of New Cumberland was top master and twelfth overall in 22:41.

  2. Congratulations to everyone who participated. I’m glad I signed up for this. Nervous about riding my bicycle from York to Harrisburg just to run 4 Miler. I’m nervous just leaving the front door, but I had an adventure and an eye opening experience.
