1.20.2024 Mechanicsville, VA, 2024 USATF National Cross Country Championships—Carrie Dimoff of the Bowerman Track Club won by 31 seconds, with a 21:16 over the 6 kilometer course at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Virginia.

Dimoff represented the USA at the 2019 World Athletics World Championships Marathon in Doha, Qatar.  It was so hot, the organizers changed the marathon start time to midnight.  Dimoff placed twelfth.  No such problem on this weekend, as temperatures stayed under freezing for the entire day, and the wind gusts made it seem colder at times.

Renee Metivier of Portland and Team Red Lizard was second in 21:47.  Renee represented the USA in five World Cross Country events.  April Lund of Bismarck, ND, the 2023 USATF XC Champion, was third in 21:57.  Coming back from injury, Lund was pleased to make the podium and continue recovery and training for the 2024 Boston Marathon.  Chelsea Lenge Warren of Team Red Lizard was fourth in 21:59.  Kasie Enman of Vermont and the Green Mountain Athletic Club was fifth in 22:06.

Age group winners outside of the top fifteen overall were:
Amy Gannon of Greater Philadelphia in 25:05 in 16th place and first 50-54.
Mary Cass of Liberty AC in 25:38 was 19th and first 60-64.
Melissa Chiti of Pursuit of Excellence in 27:04 was 28th and first 55-59.
Nora Cary of Shore AC was 30th in 27:07 and first 65-69.
