Ruhling and Lichter win 61st running of JFK 50 Miler

11.18.23 Boonsboro to Williamsport, MD—Seth Ruhling of Boulder, CO had his eye on the course record, but ended up with the win in 5:28:39.  Ruhling won the 2019 JFK in his only other participation in the event.  Ruhling is now #5 on the all-time list.  Calum Neff of Katy, TX, a Canadian citizen, was second in 5:38:39.  Neff had a DNF in his only other JFK wanted to set the record straight.  Ryan Sullivan of Grand Junction, CO was third in 5:40:45.  Jared Burdick of Fayetteville, NY was fourth in5:46:21.  Geoffrey Burns of Colorado Springs, CO made it three for Colorado in the top five, in 5:55:02.  The five were the only runners to break the six-hour mark in the 2023 JFK, in which 932 finished.

Jennifer Lichter of Missoula, MT was the top female, finishing in 6:23:31.  Lichter becomes #6 on the All-time list.  Robyn Mildren, a Canadian living in nearby Baltimore, MD, was second in 6:27:59 in the longest race she had ever run.  Valerie Arsenault of Quebec City, another Canadian, was third in 6:35:56.  Tara Dower of Wake Forest, NC was fourth in 6:51:17.  Lisa Roberts of Charlotte, NC was fifth and top master in 6:53:58.
