Mechanicsburg, PA, August 5, 2023—OK, the Run for Reading is for books, not for the nearby city of Reading. Anyway, it’s kind of a reverse inside joke. This race was held at East Winding Hill Park near Mechanicsburg and benefits, you guessed it, the library.
Ryan Hartzell of Enola blitzed the 5k course in 16:35 and won by over a minute. Devon Fogel of Whitehall, PA was second in 17:46. Vincent Topino of Mechanicsburg was third overall and top master in 18:53.
Kris Beckert of Lemoyne was the champ in 22:37. 2022 champ Arynne Moody of Harleysville, PA was second in 23:31. Kelly Dworak of Carlisle was third and top master (runners over 40), in 24:35. Kelly is 61.
There were exactly 100 finishers in the Run for Reading 5K.
