BALTIMORE, MD--In the first big area race of the season, which saw 2,917 finishers, the Kelly Shamrock St. Patrick’s 5K gave runners the chance to shake off winter rust. Dave Berdan, 25, of Baltimore won easily in 15:01. Nelly Spence, 16, of Shippensburg, PA had even more of a cushion for the women, winning her division in 17:20. Greg Cauller, 47, of York, PA (16:28) and Chris Chattin, 43, of Columbia (16:36) showed that they still have great speed and endurance with their top 10 finishes amongst the younger guys.

The race, held March 10, covers the St. Patrick’s Day Parade route, just prior to the parade, with an extension South and East of the Inner Harbor.
