NY, NY--A stellar field for world class women runners was incentive for me to get the first train from NJ at 5 a.m. to cover the New York Mini 10K on June 10.

London Marathon champ Mary Keitany of Kenya won in 31:20.  Mamitu Daska of Ethiopia, the 2017 Bolder Boulder champ was second in 32:09.

Aliphine Tuliamuk of Santa Fe, NM., who represented the USA at World XC in Uganda was third in 32:14.  Jo Pavey of Great Britain was 11th overall, and first Masters in 33:43.  Pavey, along with Kara Goucher (USA), will receive their upgraded 10,000-meter medals from the 2007 world champs, in London in August.
