Edwards Runs New Record at Run for the Cannoli

HAZLETON, PA--On Sunday, August 19, Brenae Edwards, an NCAA All-American, blazed her way to victory in the woman’s division at the 9th Annual Saint Mauro’s Festival “Run for the Cannoli,” with a time of 17:49. She finished strong, remaining far ahead of the other women competitors. Jeff Skwierz became the first place male when he crossed the finish line with a time of 16:38. His was a hard-fought battle, which Skwierz ultimately won, with a five-second lead, against young Jacob Fetterman, who placed second with a time of 16:43. The excitement was thick as Skwierz and Fetterman neared the finish line. Although Skwierz took the victory, Fetterman can still be proud of his time of 16:43.

There was one tie when Cassie Papp and Angie Marchetti chose to run the race side by side, both finishing with a time of 21:38. The largest competition was held between the males 15 and under. Erik Goestech, Jeffery Planutis, and Noah Moon all ran the race in close proximity of the other. Goestech eventually managed to overtake the other two young runners with a finishing time of 21:51. Planutis followed close behind with a time of 21:57, and behind him was Moon, finishing with a time of 22:05.

The event was an overall success, delivering a challenging race, a fun atmosphere, and a great time for all.
